I loved doing this challenge because it was not just weight loss.  I was able to get great habits in a lot of different areas.  I loved the team aspect of the challenge because I did not want to let my team members down.  I lost 19 lbs and lost 20 inches.  I did not realize that if I did a lot of little things right, it made a big difference in my overall success.  I loved the way it made me feel.  I had more energy and felt like my body was getting the nutrients I needed.  I can't wait for the next challenge to begin.   -Julie

My team decided that the best way for success was to be completely consistent from day one in trying to be perfect in earning all the points possible that were in our control (weight loss is not, unfortunately.)  We weren't always able to do that, but we came pretty close.  Getting that head start on things just made us more motivated to try to continue to do that and not let each other down.  No one wanted to be the weak link on the team!  I loved how it made us root for each other and support each other, rather than being frustrated when other people were losing weight and having success on weeks that may not have been great for me.  I knew their success ultimately was success for me too.  The team support ended up being our best motivator for success.  Loved it!   -Jill

I have always felt self conscious about my weight. Since high school I had lost about 30 pounds, but I still wasn't where I wanted to be.  The past years I felt like I was stuck in a rut of bad habits and wishing I appreciated how I looked.  I am a competitive person and love a challenge. I was consistent on earning full points each week. I saw the pounds slowly, but surely come off.  Not only did I loose pounds, but also inches.  More importantly though I felt good about myself, the way I was eating, and who I was as a person.  The challenge wasn't easy, but change is never easy! In the end I lost 11.5 pounds and 17.25 inches overall.  If I can do it, you can too! -Katie 11/11/13

I have joined several of these challenges in the past.  Each time I join, I pay my money and nothing ever changes.  I find that I have trouble keeping myself motivated especially when several of the people in the challenge are very fit; exercise and eating right seems to come really easy for them.  This is the first challenge I have joined that I have actually finished and the reason was the team aspect of it.  I would not have made it past week one without the support of my team or made it the entire 8 weeks.  What I have noticed is that I don't want to eat as many sweets, I have more energy to play with my kids, and I'm slimming down significantly.  During this challenge I lost 16 lbs and 9 inches.  I am a working mom which makes things a little more challenging, but I have found a way to exercise and eat right while working 10 hour days.  Each of us have our challenges and reasons not to do this, but if you really are tired of being overweight and tired grab a group and join this challenge it will change your life! -Selina  11/9/13

I tried the Great in 8 challenge because I was ready to make a change. I was tired of how I looked, and I liked the idea that I could be healthy not just physically but spiritually as well. My first challenge I lost almost 20 lbs and 18 inches. I also love the team concept, working together with people you know are counting on you really helps you stay on track. This is the best way to get healthy - so give it a try! Vera 11/9/13
